HUD Neighborhood Network Centers
The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) created Neighborhood Networks in 1995 to encourage property owners to establish multiservice community learning centers in HUD insured and assisted properties. Neighborhood Networks was one of the first federal initiatives to promote self-sufficiency and help provide computer access to low-income housing communities.

State Rapid Response Coordinators
Individuals who respond to layoffs and plant closings by quickly coordinating services and providing immediate aid to companies and their affected workers. In addition, State Rapid Response Coordinators work with employers and any employee representative(s) to quickly maximize public and private resources to minimize the disruptions on companies, affected workers, and communities that are associated with job loss. Also, these individuals help growing companies access an available pool of skilled workers from other companies that are downsizing or who have been trained in the skills your company needs to be competitive.
